Elderbridge Agency on Aging Received $10,000 Grant from the David and Phyllis Murphy Charitable Foundation for Client Assistance to Low- and Moderate-Income Older Iowans (age 60+) and Adults with Disabilities (age 18-59) in Cerro Gordo County.

Elderbridge Agency on Aging is grateful to the David and Phyllis Murphy Charitable Foundation for their generous $10,000 grant, received on November 4, 2024. This charitable funding will be used to provide essential Client Assistance to low- and moderate-income older Iowans (age 60+) and adults with disabilities (age 18-59) in Cerro Gordo County.

Client Assistance is a last-resort funding option, used only after insurance and other resources have been exhausted.

Funding provides crucial support for those we serve, covering a range of needs. It assists with emergency needs such as food, shelter, utilities, and transportation during critical times. For safety, it provides devices like Lifeline phones and medical alert systems. Healthcare support includes medical and dental services not covered by insurance, medication co-pays, and essential equipment. Home modifications, including safety bars, ramps, and repairs, improve accessibility and safety. The funding also promotes social engagement by providing technology like Grandpad tablets and robotic pets to reduce loneliness. Caregivers benefit as well, with respite care services offering them needed relief.

Elderbridge is thrilled to have received these funds to improve the lives of older adults and individuals with disabilities in Cerro Gordo County. On behalf of our Board, staff, and those we serve, we extend our deep gratitude to the David and Phyllis Murphy Charitable Foundation for this generous support.
