First Citizens Charitable Foundation, Inc., Presented a $5,000 check to Elderbridge to Suppor the Client Assistance program.

On January 21, 2026, Wendy Rish and Bridget Barker from the First Citizens Charitable Foundation, Inc., presented a $5,000 check to Elderbridge staff member Tammie McCready in support of the Client Assistance program. This funding is critical, as it helps cover essential needs that insurance and other resources do not, providing a vital safety net for our most vulnerable older adults and individuals with disabilities.

When clients have no other financial options, Client Assistance funds can resolve immediate crises, such as repairing a broken floor tile to eliminate a tripping hazard that previously led to hospitalization. The grant also serves as a lifeline for individuals facing job loss, financial exploitation, or the inability to afford basic utilities or rent. In addition, it ensures that clients returning home from the hospital have the support needed to recover safely, including emergency food and homemaker services. From medication co-pays and transportation to safety equipment such as GPS or personal response systems, this support allows clients to live with dignity and independence in their own homes.

The First Citizens Charitable Foundation is a private philanthropic organization based in Mason City, Iowa. Established in 1995, the Foundation supports charitable, educational, religious, and scientific causes that strengthen the communities served by First Citizens Bank across northern Iowa and parts of Minnesota. Over the years, the Foundation has awarded millions of dollars to local nonprofits to enhance community services and improve the quality of life for residents.

Thank you to the First Citizens Charitable Foundation for your generous support of Elderbridge’s mission.
