Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program

Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program
The SFMNP is administered by the Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship. This program provides eligible older adults with $50 worth of vouchers that can be spent at participating farmers markets and roadside stands to purchase fresh, Iowa grown fruits, vegetables, herbs, and honey. An individual must meet age and income requirements and complete the required paperwork and application to receive SFMNP benefits.
Due to fewer vouchers being received this year, benefits are being distributed differently than in years past. There is the possibility that not everyone who fills out an application will receive vouchers. Those names will be added to a wait list in case more vouchers become available.
There will be no in-person distribution of vouchers at any of our offices, meal sites or other outside agencies this year. Consumers that received vouchers last year will receive a letter in the mail with further information on obtaining an application. All applications received will then be processed and vouchers mailed on a first-come, first-served basis until all vouchers have been distributed.
If you do not receive a letter and are interested in receiving Farmers Market vouchers, call and express your interest to have your name put on the wait list.
Watch our website and Facebook for further information as it becomes available or call 800-243-0678 after June 1, 2025.
