Emmet County Community Foundation Awarded Elderbridge Agency On Aging With A Check For $10,000 For Client Assistance

On July 10, 2024, the Emmet County Community Foundation Chair, Robin Enerson, presented Elderbridge Agency on Aging’s Chief Operating Officer, Stacia Timmer, with a check for $10,000 for Client Assistance during an awards ceremony at the VFW Hall in Estherville.

These funds will support older adults over the age of 60 and individuals with disabilities between the ages of 18-59 who have unmet needs. The importance of client assistance funding cannot be overstated, as it plays a crucial role in preventing hospitalizations or nursing home admissions during times of crisis. These crises can range from the loss of a spouse, homelessness, job loss, and financial exploitation, to the deployment of a caregiver, among other unforeseen circumstances.

The grant money will be allocated towards a variety of essential services and needs. This includes food, emergency shelter, utility assistance, security devices, safety bars, ramps, home repairs, medication copays, and assistance with daily tasks such as bathing, cooking, cleaning, laundry, transportation, and more.

Thank you to the Emmet County Community Foundation for your generous support of the Elderbridge mission.
