Caregiver Conference at Clay County Regional Events Center on April 20th, 2023 for Family Caregivers, Professional Caregivers, and Community Partners

Family Caregivers are free to attend!

Family caregivers are spouses, relatives, friends, or neighbors who provide assistance related to an individual with an underlying physical or mental disability for at-home care and assist in the activities of daily living (ADLs) that are unpaid.

A recent study says that 26.5% of all American adults today are family caregivers.

“Substitute Decision Making in Iowaâ€

During this workshop, attendees will be educated on appointing substitute decision makers, including guardians, conservators, and powers of attorney, and the differences between each.

12:00 pm-1:00 pm – Lunch

1:00 pm-3:00 pm – Dr. James Coyle

“Caring for the Caregiverâ€

During this workshop, we will define what Compassion Fatigue is, identify the signs and symptoms of Compassion Fatigue, and offer applicable ways to treat and manage Compassion Fatigue.

The cost of attendance for Professional Caregivers and Community Partners is $25 per person (lunch included) Qualifications for CEUs require attendance for all sessions.

Cost of CEUs: Nursing and Social Workers: $12 / EMS: $30 Total CEUs available: 4
