Financial Aid from Grants Helps Elderbridge Serve Consumers

Elderbridge Agency on Aging would like to thank the Kinney-Lindstrom Foundation for their recent generous donation. A gift of $7,300 will be put towards the cost of a replacement vehicle for the agency. This donation will help ensure that our staff continues to meet with consumers in their homes, meal sites or other locations to provide needed services. Many older Iowans that we work with are either homebound or have transportation barriers. Thanks again to the Kinney-Lindstrom Foundation for its gift.

Thank you also to the United Way of North Central Iowa for their recent gift to Elderbridge. A check for the amount of $20,000 will go to help fund our Elder Rights Program. The goal of the Elder Rights Program is to terminate or reduce potential abuse and harm to older Iowan victims through intervention strategies. The Elder Rights Specialists at Elderbridge provide direct services and support for consumers in many different ways, including:

  • Arranging emergency housing
  • Providing transportation
  • Helping to complete food assistance or other applications for other aid
  • Working with and advocating for a senior who has been taken advantage of
  • Attending doctor appointments
  • Attending court hearings

Once more, thank you to United Way of North Central Iowa for their generous gift.
