Caregivers of loved ones face many long days and nights. Some never seem to end. That’s why on the longest day of the year, June 21st, Elderbridge staff in Spencer will be hosting an event to help provide caregivers with resources and tools for themselves and the person they care for.
The Spencer Elderbridge Office, in partnership with St. Croix Hospice and the Spencer Family YMCA, Will be hosting an event Spencer YMCA celebrating “The Longest Day” coinciding with the longest day of the year on June 21st from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Light refreshments will be available and a free tool book will be given to each caregiver who attends. There will also be a drawing for a 1 hour massage. Participants will visit many stations to go over multiple aspects of caring for loved ones.
Elderbridge’s event will focus on education about Alzheimer’s for both caregivers and the general public. Currently, the goal of the “Elderbridge Caregiver Super Heroes” team is to raise $1,600 to help those affected by the disease. Staff from the Spencer office will be on hand at the event to provide information and answer caregiver questions about services that can help.
