Hear About the Elderbridge Program for Elder Rights on KCMR Radio

Elder abuse incidents are often neglected or under reported. Data obtained from a pilot program which ran from 2007 through 2011 in 22 Iowa counties indicated that 11,903 abuse referrals were received at Elderbridge Agency on Aging.

Here are more startling facts....elder abuse victims are twice as likely to be hospitalized and are 4 times more likely to go into a nursing home. Abuse adds $5.3 billion to the nation’s annual health expenditures since those financially abused most often turn to Medicaid as a direct result of being exploited.
